There's no place like home for the Michigan Lutheran Seminary Cardinals, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They managed a 60-54 victory over Valley Lutheran on Friday. For Michigan Lutheran Seminary, this counts as revenge for the 57-48 loss the Chargers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Michigan Lutheran Seminary found their leader in underclassman Noah Reif, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of William Salgat, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Valley Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Elijah Wolter, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds. Wolter is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Noah Hecht, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Michigan Lutheran Seminary's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Valley Lutheran, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Michigan Lutheran Seminary will head out on the road to take on the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Millington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully the Cardinals likes a good challenge. As for Valley Lutheran, they will be playing at home against the Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
