Clairemont had won three straight home games and Makoa Miner did his part to make it four on Monday. The Chieftains blew past the Foothills Christian Knights 3-0 thanks in part to Miner, who had 15 kills, three blocks, and two aces. He is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had seven or more in each of the last 18 games he's played.

While Clairemont won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 29-27, 25-18, 25-21.

Clairemont got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabe Tocco out in front who had seven kills and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Sean Sumner, who had six blocks and five kills.

Clairemont is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season. As for Foothills Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-12.
