The Kennedy Knights and the Curtis Warriors squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Kennedy Knights had to settle for second. They took a 30-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kennedy in their matchups with Curtis: they've now lost seven in a row.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Derik Betances, who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown. Jakeem Griffith also helped out as he racked up 110 rushing yards.
Among those leading the charge was Chauncey Mims, who picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Quadare Gomez, who rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown.
Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Curtis, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.
Kennedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Curtis also has no future games currently scheduled.
