Cannon have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they take on Providence Day at 7:00 PM. Cannon are limping into the game on a three-game losing streak.
Two weeks ago, Cannon came up short against Covenant Day, falling 14-28. Cannon's defeat came about despite a quality game from senior Larkin Lancaster, who picked up 59 yards on the ground and accumulated 126 passing yards.
Providence Day had a rough outing against North Stanly, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Providence Day steamrollered Hickory Hawks 51-0. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Providence Day as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Providence Day's win lifted them to 1-3 while Cannon's loss dropped them down to 1-3. We'll see if Providence Day's success rolls on or if Cannon are able to steal their positive momentum.
