Prospect Ridge Academy is 0-10 against Forge Christian since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Miners are taking a road trip to square off against the Fury at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Prospect Ridge Academy 3.1, Forge Christian 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
While Prospect Ridge Academy's victory against Jefferson Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Miners' pitcher stepped up to hand the Jaguars a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Miners have posted since March 21st.

Liam Schilling made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
Schilling wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Zeke Bote, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Forge Christian had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Thunder.
Burke Jasa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Forge Christian let Brock Wycoff and Asher Garner run wild. Wycoff went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Garner scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Forge Christian pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Prospect Ridge Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Forge Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Prospect Ridge Academy suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Forge Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Miners avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
