There's no place like home for the Sparta Academy Warriors, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 42-31 win over Monroe Academy on Monday. The win was just what Sparta Academy needed coming off of a 83-31 loss in their prior game.
Logan Robinson was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Robinson has scored at least 25% of Sparta Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Murfee Williams, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
Sparta Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Monroe Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Sparta Academy will head out on the road to face off against Hooper Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hooper Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Monroe Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Morgan Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
