After starting their season with two straight games on the road, Lennard is finally coming home. Last Friday, everything came up roses for Lennard on the road against Spoto as the team secured a 47-18 win.
Gavin Fields and Michael Merritt were among the main playmakers for Lennard as the former rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries and the latter rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Merritt got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible97 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Mobley, who threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Lennard was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 505 total yards. That's the most total yards they've posted since was before the start of last season.
Lennard wouldn't let Spoto keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Dorian Burns, Sta'Shaun Gage, and Thomas Shine picked up one apiece. Burns' also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making six total tackles. Another thorn in Spoto's side was Jamarie Clarke, who picked up 1.5 sacks, made 15 total tackles (1.5 for loss), and defended a pass.
Meanwhile, Blake came up short against Bloomingdale on Friday and fell 33-25. The Yellow Jackets gained 259 more yards on the day, but it was the Bulls that made the best use of them.
Blake might have lost, but man, Quentin Deboue was a machine: he rushed for 208 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry.
Lennard's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Blake, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
