Softball Game Preview: Brandon Valley Lynx vs. Watertown Arrows

Brandon Valley is a perfect 4-0 against Watertown since May of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Lynx will welcome the Arrows at 6:00 p.m. Brandon Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.

Brandon Valley's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Aberdeen Central with a sharp 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Lynx, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Gabriel Kriech was a standout: she fired off three home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in runs (three). Peyton Amdahl was another key player, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3.

Brandon Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aberdeen Central only posted an OBP of .111.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Watertown's offense. They came up short against Roosevelt on Saturday, falling 9-0. The Arrows just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Brandon Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Watertown, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.

Watertown's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Brandon Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .427. It's a different story for Watertown, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Brandon Valley's hitters?
