The Mayer Wildcats lost against the San Pasqual Valley Warriors back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Mayer fell 48-40 to San Pasqual Valley. Mayer has not had much luck with San Pasqual Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
San Pasqual Valley found their leader in underclassman Isaiah Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 24 rebounds. Martinez continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Santiago Lopez was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Mayer's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-9. As for San Pasqual Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 1-7.
Mayer will be home for the holidays to greet Desert Heights Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Desert Heights Prep comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for San Pasqual Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against North Valley Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
