The Iroquois West Raiders lost against the Oakwood Comets back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Iroquois West fell 49-39 to the Comets. Iroquois West has struggled against the Comets recently, as their matchup on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Oakwood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaydah Arrowsmith, who scored 22 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Arrowsmith has scored at least a third of Oakwood's points. Another player making a difference was Gracie Hanner, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Iroquois West has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season. As for Oakwood, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-17.
Iroquois West will head out on the road to challenge the Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Milford is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Oakwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Storm at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Salt Fork is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
