Anahuac hasn't had much luck against Kountze recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Anahuac Panthers duke it out with Kountze Lions at 6:00 p.m. Anahuac is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
Last Tuesday, Anahuac was able to grind out a solid win over Buna, taking the game 6-2.
Brecken Wilpitz made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaitlynn McDaniel, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Estefani Palacios was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Anahuac kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Kountze ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Hardin 7-6. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won five in a row.
Like Anahuac, Kountze also got a great game from a two-way player: Mckinley Rowinsky. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 17 over eight innings pitched. With that strong performance, Rowinsky is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-5.
In other batting news, Kyla Parker was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chesinee Wallace, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Anahuac's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Kountze, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Anahuac has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448. However, it's not like Kountze struggles in that department as they've averaged .454. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Anahuac suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Kountze in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Anahuac avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
