Penns Manor hasn't had much luck against Homer-Center recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Comets will host the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, Penns Manor didn't have quite enough to beat Northern Cambria and fell 3-2.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Penns Manor sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-21, 23-25, 25-21, 22-25, 15-9.
Meanwhile, Homer-Center entered their tilt with United on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 3-0 win. The Wildcats not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 3rd (when they won 3-0).
While Homer-Center won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-17, 26-24.
Homer-Center's win came from a few key players Penns Manor will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ashlyn Yount, who had 34 assists and five digs. Yount is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Rado, who had seven digs, six kills, and two blocks.
Homer-Center's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Penns Manor, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
