South Beloit was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lincoln Academy on Tuesday. The Sobos never let Lincoln Academy get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. Considering the Sobos have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Richard Carlson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 21 over seven innings pitched. Those 21 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cesar Alfaro was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

South Beloit is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

South Beloit will be playing in front of their home fans against Earlville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln Academy will be paying especially close attention to South Beloit's matchup: after South Beloit faces off against Christian Liberty, they'll take on Lincoln Academy again at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
