St. Cloud is a perfect 10-0 against Poinciana since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. St. Cloud will be taking part in a tournament against Poinciana at 7:00 p.m. St. Cloud is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
St. Cloud barely beat Davenport the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. St. Cloud's pitchers stepped up to hand Davenport a 13-0 shutout on Thursday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by nine runs or more this season.
Drew Kelley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kelley was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Sean Gallagher was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Logan King was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
St. Cloud always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Davenport only posted an OBP of .211.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Poinciana ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Gateway 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted against the Panthers since March 23, 2022.
Like St. Cloud, Poinciana also got a great game from a two-way player: Christian Dawkins. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Dawkins also tossed no walks, which is notable because Poinciana is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-3 otherwise. Dawkins was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
St. Cloud is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. The win got Poinciana back to even at 4-4.
St. Cloud beat Poinciana 11-6 in their previous meeting back in February. Does St. Cloud have another victory up their sleeve, or will Poinciana turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
