After two games on the road, Cleveland is heading back home. They will take on the Rhea County Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Cleveland pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chattanooga Christian.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tamiah Tanner, who scored 17 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Hurst, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Cleveland were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chattanooga Christian only racked up ten assists.
Meanwhile, Rhea County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss. They fell just short of East Hamilton by a score of 52-50.
Cleveland's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-8. As for Rhea County, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-14.
Everything came up roses for Cleveland against Rhea County when the teams last played on Saturday as the squad secured a 67-27 win. Will Cleveland repeat their success, or does Rhea County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
