The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Comets on Tuesday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Comets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Deana Linares spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ava Foster was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Kealee Alyea was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Normal West came up short against Normal University on Monday and fell 4-1.
Normal West saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery White, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Danville's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Normal West, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
