Smoky Hill's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carter Basquez, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorenzo Contreras, who scored 6 points along with 10 assists and 4 steals.
Luke Shaw was the offensive standout of the game as he dropped a double-double on 26 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Valley Christian's points. Austin Wallace was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with 6 rebounds.
Smoky Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Valley Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Smoky Hill won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Valley Vista at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. Valley Vista is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Valley Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Pusch Ridge Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Thursday.
