Volleyball Recap: Brookside Gets the Win

Brookside won the last time they faced Oberlin and Sydney Adkins did her part to make sure it happened again. The Cardinals walked away with a 3-1 win over the Phoenix on Tuesday for which the team can thank Adkins, who had 44 assists and 11 digs. She has been hot recently, having posted 21 or more assists the last four times she's played.

While Brookside might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Oberlin scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 27-25, 14-25, 25-18.

Oberlin's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyssa Webb, who had 16 digs and six aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucinda Ulichney, who had 19 assists and 11 digs.

Brookside's record now sits at 7-10. As for Oberlin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Brookside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Wellington on the 2nd. As for Oberlin, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Clearview on the 2nd.
