Heart River co-op [Belfield/South Heart] dropped their record down to 5-2 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They lost 13-1 to the Beulah Miners. The Cougars were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the five matchups prior), but the Miners' pitchers proved too tough.
As for Beulah, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Considering they have won ten matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
For Beulah's part, Addie Dale-Geiger was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Dale-Geiger has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last nine games.
In other batting news, Clara Hager and Jayda Remboldt did most of the damage at the plate: Hager went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Remboldt went 2-for-4 with three runs and one double.
