The Boca Raton Christian Blazers will head out on the road to face off against the Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Boca Raton Christian on the road against Jordan Christian Prep as the squad secured a 56-26 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Boca Raton Christian.
Boca Raton Christian can attribute much of their success to Joey Weber, who threw for 265 yards and five touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and Christian Anderson, who picked up 210 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Anderson's longest reception was for an incredible 87 yards. Brady Wall did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 40 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Saint Stephen's Episcopal entered their tilt with Oasis with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went Saint Stephen's Episcopal's way against Oasis on Friday as Saint Stephen's Episcopal made off with a 29-7 win.
It was another big night for Evan Brown, who rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 154 yards and a touchdown. Brown is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Oasis to a paltry 176 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Saint Stephen's Episcopal's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out seven times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Austin Varga and his 2.5 sacks.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 6-2.
Boca Raton Christian was taken down by Saint Stephen's Episcopal 35-0 in their previous matchup back in November of 2015. Thankfully for Boca Raton Christian, Fred Billy (who rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 162 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
