The Middleton Vikings are on the road again on Thursday and play against the Owyhee Storm at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Even though Middleton has not done well against Mountain View recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Middleton really took it to Mountain View for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-20 win on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-13.
Among those leading the charge was Elsie Wyatt, who scored 20 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Middleton's points. Robynn Flowers was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Owyhee has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Meridian with a sharp 55-31 victory on Tuesday. The win was just what Owyhee needed coming off of a 65-38 loss in their prior game.
The losses dropped Middleton to 4-3 and Mountain View to 1-7.
Middleton came up short against Owyhee in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 52-47. Can Middleton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
