The Pirates led D2 District 7 (8 Man) in scoring this week by notching 61 points on the Cardinals.
Anselmo-Merna's dynamic duo of Troy Gilligan and Trent Geiser proved to be unstoppable against Sandhills/Thedford, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gilligan threw for 173 yards and 3 touchdowns and Geiser had 93 yards receiving. Keenan Stupka helped Anselmo-Merna's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 54 yards.
The Coyotes' dynamic duo of Gilligan and Geiser proved tough for the Knights to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Jack Otting-Crandell made the biggest impact on defense this week as Loomis bested Pleasanton. The 6-foot-1 junior nabbed 2 interceptions.
Gilligan put up the best numbers through the air as Anselmo-Merna topped Sandhills/Thedford.
Geiser was the best receiver in the league this week as Matt McGinn's team beat Josh Deines' team.
Tyrell Younger was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 167 yards on 18 carries as Bertrand defeated the Knights. Robert Edgren also contributed to the rushing game with 61 yards on the ground.
Leading D2 District 7 (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards, Anselmo-Merna's Gilligan and Geiser have proven to be a lethal combination. Gilligan has thrown for 341 yards this season, while Geiser has 4 catches for 204 yards. The Vikings' Younger leads the league in rushing yards with 390.
