The Venture Academy Mustangs stacked a 15th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Stone Ridge Christian with a sharp 92-66 win. Winning may never get old, but Venture Academy sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Venture Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mario Williams, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Williams has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Toriano Woods, Jr., who scored 20 points along with three steals.
Stone Ridge Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brock Richards, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Richards is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Daijon O?neil was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Venture Academy pushed their record up to 19-2 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.3 points. As for Stone Ridge Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Venture Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Elliot Christian at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. Elliot Christian has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7. As for Stone Ridge Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Turlock Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Turlock Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
