The Forsan Buffaloes will head out on the road to face off against the Christoval Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Forsan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Christoval likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Forsan blew past Anthony, posting a 60-14 victory at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-7.
Forsan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grant Roman, who rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Roman was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards. Hayden Bowlin was in the mix as well, providing Forsan with three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Christoval was the victim of a rough 40-18 defeat at the hands of Ozona on Friday. Christoval has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Forsan's win was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 6-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.6 points per game. Christoval has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday' game: Forsan commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.7 touchdowns per game. It's a different story for Christoval, though, as they've been averaging only 1.8 per game. Will Forsan continue their march to the end zone, or will Christoval flip the ?
Forsan was able to grind out a solid win over Christoval in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, winning 14-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Forsan since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
