Softball Recap: Poth Wins Going Away Against Luling

Poth won the last time they faced Luling and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Pirates put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 13-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Karlee Kroll made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paige Gilden, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Ava Kroll was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Poth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Luling only posted an OBP of .100.

Poth's record now sits at 13-8. As for Luling, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-14.

As of now, neither Poth nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
