Poteet will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Terrell on Friday. The Pirates put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 12-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.
Victoria Vasquez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Vasquez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Poteet let Priscilla Mata and Faith Castellanos run wild. Mata went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Castellanos went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Mata a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Fuentes, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Poteet hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Rowlett hit Centennial with a nine-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans came up short against the Eagles, falling 13-3.
Rylie Shelton made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Tatum Weghorst, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
The victory got Poteet back to even at 3-3. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Poteet's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's game. The Pirates have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game.
