HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. - the Eagles had a big 28-point first quarter on Saturday, sealing a 52-0 victory over Legacy (Broomfield, Colo.).
Valor Christian scored on a touchdown run by
Christian McCaffrey, a McCaffrey touchdown run, a touchdown pass by
Luke Del Rio to
Daryl Hawkins and a Del Rio touchdown pass to Hawkins in the quarter.
VC was up 42-0 at the half after taking the lead on a McCaffrey touchdown run in the first quarter.
The Highlands Ranch school expanded its lead to 49 points entering the fourth quarter. The Eagles scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
AJ Cecil.
With the win Valor Christian extended its winning streak to eight games. VC defeated the Jaguars 63-7 last week.
McCaffrey was the top performer for the Eagles. The junior running back ran for two touchdowns and caught two touchdowns. He has now scored 28 touchdowns on the season.
Valor Christian came into the game allowing 6.2 points per game. The zero points that the Lightning ended with were well below their average of 20.2 coming into the game.
