Richland has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Argyle Eagles at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Richland was able to grind out a solid win over Denton, taking the game 41-33.
Richland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luna Palacios garza, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Palacios garza has scored all season. Katie Laufer was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Argyle came tearing into Tuesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Lake Dallas as Argyle made off with a 34-9 win. Argyle has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 25 points or more this season.
Richland's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-17. As for Argyle, they pushed their record up to 26-3 with that win, which was their 17th straight on the road.
Richland was taken down by Argyle 67-14 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Richland was down 29-5.
