The Calhoun Yellow Jackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 71-64 to Hiram. Calhoun has not had much luck with Hiram recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Calhoun lost, one person who can't be blamed is Emaree Winston. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Winston has scored all season. Jace Johns was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds.
Calhoun's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Hiram, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Calhoun and Dalton will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Hiram, they will head out on the road to take on Cartersville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cartersville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 308th, while Hiram is ranked 104th).
