The Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of GRACE Christian. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Wake Christian Academy of the 48-44 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emma Crissman, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds. That was a full 43.8% of Wake Christian Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Hall, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Wake Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for GRACE Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.
Wake Christian Academy and Cary Christian will face off at 5:15 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Cary Christian is ranked 357th, while Wake Christian Academy is ranked 364th). GRACE Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against College Prep & Leadership Academy at 3:00 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully College Prep & Leadership Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
