The East Robertson Indians will be home for the holidays to greet the Pickett County Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Robertson will be strutting in after a victory while Pickett County will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though White House scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, East Robertson still came out on top. East Robertson walked away with a 71-58 win over White House. The win was all the more spectacular given East Robertson's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while White House is ranked 137th).
Meanwhile, Pickett County came up short against Chattanooga Prep on Monday and fell 55-47. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pickett County has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Pickett County got a solid performance out of Jacob Amonett, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Amonett scored a full 38.3% of Pickett County's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Eli Reagan, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
East Robertson's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Pickett County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
East Robertson didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Pickett County in their previous meeting back in March, but they still walked away with a 47-43 win. Will East Robertson repeat their success, or does Pickett County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
