Softball Recap: Cretin-Derham Hall Wins Going Away Against Benilde-St. Margaret's

Cretin-Derham Hall gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on the Benilde-St. Margaret's Red Knights with a sharp 9-3 victory. Considering the Raiders have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Hannah Yaeger, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Michel, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Cretin-Derham Hall now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Benilde-St. Margaret's, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Looking ahead, Cretin-Derham Hall will look to defend their home field on Monday against White Bear Lake at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 3.7, the Bears 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Benilde-St. Margaret's, they are taking a road trip to challenge Waconia at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
