The Robert C. Byrd Eagles will venture away from home to  challenge the Ritchie County Rebels  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Robert C. Byrd is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5  runs per game  this season.
Robert C. Byrd is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another  one of West Virginia's top teams: Morgantown, who was ranked fifth  at the time (Robert C. Byrd was ranked 25th). The Eagles came up short against  the Mohigans on Friday, falling  11-2. The Eagles have struggled against the Mohigans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
 Robert C. Byrd saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Cooper Floyd, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Ritchie County). They put the hurt on St. Marys with a sharp  16-0 victory on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Rebels with their most commanding win of the  season.
 Brayson Hayes was a  major factor no matter where he played. He  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news, Ritchie County got a big performance out of  Rhett Johnson, who  went 1-for-2 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double. That's the most  RBI  Johnson has posted  over his last 15  games. Another player making a difference was  Turner Shriver, who  went 1-for-2 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
 Ritchie County  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in three consecutive  matches.
 Robert C. Byrd's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Ritchie County, their record is now 6-18-1.
 Everything went Robert C. Byrd's way against Ritchie County in their previous matchup  on Monday, as Robert C. Byrd made off with  a  10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
