If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Benton. They will challenge Roland-Story on the road at 4:45 PM on Friday. Benton don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
After having lost a blowout in their game two weeks ago against Union, Benton were happy to find some success last Friday. Benton put a hurting on Nevada to the tune of 56-16. The high-flying offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Benton's flat performance the game before.
Meanwhile, there's no need to mince words: Roland-Story lost to Union, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 8-44. This makes it the second loss in a row for Roland-Story.
Benton's victory lifted them to 5-1 while Roland-Story's defeat dropped them down to 2-4. We'll find out if Benton can add another positive mark to their record or if Roland-Story can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Benton's step.
