The Glenvar Highlanders were the 66-50 winner over the Radford Bobcats when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Glenvar fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 48-46. Glenvar has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Glenvar saw an underclassman step up: Brody Dawyot scored 19 points along with two steals. Reed Hutchison was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six steals.
Glenvar's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Radford, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-7.
Glenvar won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. Alleghany presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Highlanders in Virginia (the Cougars are ranked 103rd, while the Highlanders are ranked 277th). As for Radford, they will head out on the road to square off against the Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. James River is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
