The Conway Springs Cardinals had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Winfield 33-30. This was payback for Conway Springs, who suffered a 41-36 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Conway Springs' win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Macie Hartman, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Hartman scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Melissa Ebenkamp, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and seven steals.
Conway Springs' victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Winfield, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.
Conway Springs won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against North on January 27th. As for Winfield, they will head out on the road to square off against Andale on Tuesday.
