Liberty is 0-9-1 against Shadow Ridge since March of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Lions will square off against the Stallions at 3:45 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Liberty needed a bit of extra time to put away Kofa. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Kings 6-5.

Haley Horst spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Calsyn, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Amaya Romero was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Liberty hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kofa struck out 13 times.
Meanwhile, Shadow Ridge entered their tilt with Valley Vista on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Monsoon 26-1. The result was nothing new for the Stallions, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Jadyn Scott was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Shadow Ridge got a massive performance out of McKayla Ethington, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Ethington has been hot recently, having also posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Liliana Moreno, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.
Shadow Ridge's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-9-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty, their record is now 10-15-1.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Liberty hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like Shadow Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .443. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
