NorthWood is 7-2 against Concord since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The NorthWood Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Concord Minutemen at 7:45 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, NorthWood had to suffer through a rough 66-29 loss at the hands of Warsaw. NorthWood has struggled against Warsaw recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
NorthWood's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Claire Payne, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds, and Joselyn Edwards who scored 9 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinzee Hartman, who scored 5 points.
Meanwhile, Concord came up short against Fairfield on Saturday and fell 47-34. While losing is never fun, Concord can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Fairfield is ranked 43rd).
Their wins bumped NorthWood to 3-2 and Warsaw to 5-2.
NorthWood strolled past Concord in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 45-31. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Concord's Kendal Taylor, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. Now that she won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for NorthWood to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
