Timberline hasn't had much luck against Tumwater recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Blazers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Thunderbirds at 3:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
If Timberline beats Tumwater with eight runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Everything went the Blazers' way against Gig Harbor on Monday as they made off with an 8-1 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Blazers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Nevaeh Haagen made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last four games she's played.
In other batting news, Brookelyn Read was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Porsha Miller was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Timberline kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Tumwater entered their tilt with Shelton on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Highclimbers 17-2.
The team relied heavily on Brielle Womach, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. She also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Zoe Fields, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Timberline pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Tumwater, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Timberline has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Tumwater struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Timberline suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to Tumwater when the teams last played back in March of 2019. Can the Blazers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
