Baseball Recap: Almont's Win Ends Ten-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Almont had lost ten games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 5-7 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Caro Tigers 5-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-2 on Monday.

As for Caro, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-15-1 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs.

For Caro's part, Wyatt Waterman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Waterman is becoming a predictor of the Tigers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 13-14-1 when he doesn't).

Coming up, Almont will square off against Croswell-Lexington at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Caro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bad Axe at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers are facing the Hatchets at the right time seeing as the Hatchets are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
