The Grand County Red Devils will square off against the Parowan Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Grand County has seven straight wins, Parowan has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Grand County proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 12) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Carbon. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Devils have posted since March 8, 2025.

Chloe Byrd made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than 14 strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Kaiya Moore was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025.
Grand County hit Parowan with a ten-run seventh inning , which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams came up short against the Red Devils, falling 16-4.
Parowan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaizley Isaacson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Parowan's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Grand County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
Parowan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Grand County has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Parowan, though, as they've been averaging 12.2 hits. Given Grand County's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.
