Everything came up roses for Galax against Auburn on Friday as the team secured a 56-7 win. That looming 49-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Galax yet.
The Galax offense pulled no punches in the first half and blazed their way to 42 points. Meanwhile, Auburn couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 42-0 heading into the break. The Galax defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the contest.
The victory bumped Galax's record up to 7-2. Auburn's loss pushes them down to 4-5.
The teams are both focusing on improving their conference standings in their upcoming contests. Galax will square off against Bland-Rocky Gap at 7:00 PM next week. Galax are cruising in on a three-game winning streak while Bland-Rocky Gap are stumbling in off of five consecutive losses. As for Auburn, they will face off against Rural Retreat.
