There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the action were the efforts of Bishop Miege's senior Sam Pedrotti, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Liberty North got a 41 - 10 win over Park Hill South last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Keshawn Turner. Turner earned three touchdowns and 247 yards rushing the ball. In fact, our algorithms singled out Turner as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The showdown between Staley (7th in the power rankings) and Liberty (8th) shaped up to be more of a takedown. Staley has to be hurting after a devastating 31 - 7 defeat at the hands of Liberty. As a result, Staley fell two positions in the power rankings.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
It was another game, another high-octane performance for Lathrop last week (their 3rd in a row). The final score between it and East Buchanan was a 56 - 0 blowout in Lathrop's favor. Lathrop made sure to walk the walk to justify being talked up as the big favorite. With nine consecutive wins, Lathrop boasts the longest winning streak of any team in the rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Lee's Summit (19th in the power rankings) and Rockhurst (3rd). Rockhurst is backed by a win while Park Hill is motivated by a recent defeat. Will Rockhurst repeat its success, or will Park Hill bounce back and dish team a loss?
