The Liberty Union Lions lost against the Northridge Vikings back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Liberty Union took a serious blow against Northridge, falling 59-30. Liberty Union was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-13.
Liberty Union's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blake Shawver, who scored 6 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Manson, who scored 7 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Liberty Union and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Northridge, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty Union will square off against Teays Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Northridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Watkins Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
