In what's become a running theme this season, the Warren County Screaming Devils gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They blew past Lincoln County 64-34 at home. Given Warren County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Red Devils are ranked 454th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Warren County found their leader in underclassman Courtney Bray, who scored 28 points along with six steals. Bray is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Jailee Allen was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Lincoln County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Janiah Norman, who scored 13 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Syriah Hogan, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Warren County pushed their record up to 15-5 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points per game. As for Lincoln County, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warren County will take on the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Towns County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Lincoln County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington-Wilkes is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
