On Friday, the Hays Indians faced the Life Prep Fire in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hays fell 44-36 to Life Prep. Hays was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Life Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2020.
Life Prep found their leader in underclassman Marcian Pickstock, who scored 17 points. Yarek "Determine" Russell was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 4 steals.
Hays' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Life Prep, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Hays will be playing in front of their home fans against Millwood at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Millwood's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Life Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hugoton at 7:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Hugoton is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
