La Pine is a perfect 10-0 against Creswell since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Hawks will host the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, La Pine put up the most runs they have all season on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 17-5 margin over Elmira. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Dylan Newton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because La Pine is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise. Newton was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Davey Taylor and Shaye Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Taylor went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Johnson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Taylor a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elijah Sparrow, who earned one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Creswell hadn't done well against Pleasant Hill recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Billies 12-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since May 7, 2024.
Creswell's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-5. As for La Pine, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
La Pine came out on top in a nail-biter against Creswell in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
