The Shepherd Bluejays entered their tilt with the Swan Valley Vikings with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Shepherd walked away with a 46-36 victory over Swan Valley on Monday. Given Shepherd's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Swan Valley is ranked 292nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shepherd can attribute much of their success to Nolan Caszatt, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Caszatt has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Dysinger, who scored 14 points.
Shepherd's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Swan Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Shepherd's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Gladwin at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. As for Swan Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Alma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
