Pierce County hadn't done well against Coffee recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bears narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Trojans 3-1. The game was the first time the Bears have beaten the Trojans on their field since March 5, 2016.

Pierce County's victory bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Coffee, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-12.

Pierce County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Coffee, they will welcome Crisp County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight.
