The Stanley Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Florien Blackcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Stanley has nine straight wins, Florien has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Stanley came out on top against Hornbeck on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run second inning. The Panthers put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 16-2 victory. Considering the Panthers have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ty Davis and Koby Groves made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Davis pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Meanwhile, Groves pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Davis got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, while Groves went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brody Files, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Brown, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Stanley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .568 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Ebarb hit Florien with a five-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blackcats lost 13-5 to the Rebels. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 2, 2024, but that streak is no more.
Jaxon Alcock and Karson Adams stepped up to the plate in a big way. Alcock went 2-for-4 with three RBI, while Adams went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that Adams has snagged this season.
Stanley's record now sits at 17-5. As for Florien, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.
Everything went Stanley's way against Florien in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as Stanley made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
